Martell Noblige

Standard Product pack shot (on the left) shot of the Martell Noblige, retouched and can be etched out for composite, trying to recreate the lighting used in the actual ad.

I personally don’t drink due to medical reasons, but I had the privilege of getting my hands on one bottle (albeit temporary) as my friend had a collaboration with the brand.

Placed the bottle on a white platform held up by two short cuboid blocks, I managed to lower the product, which saved me from having to raise everything surrounding it higher than necessary. This helped me save both time & effort and allows me to focus more on the lighting of the product. I consistently referred back to the original image I was referencing to ensure I was on the right track, and little was left to guess work.

Tweaked basic lighting in Capture One to enhance the photo, and cleaned up the remnant dust and blemishes on the bottle in Photoshop. Had used a blower to blow the dust and dirt from the bottle, but there are some areas that might be hard to get given how intricate the texture on the bottle is (the carved Swallow’s silhouette). That, and some text that might have been imprinted onto the bottle were also required to be removed.

On the right, is my interpretation of the bottle in a more lifestyle situation, where the drink is put against a less sterile background, with a slight change of colour temperature, and adding shadows of leaves in the background. Wish I had behind-the-scenes photos, but it was done alone in the studio.
