First time focusing on feelings and vibes > techniques itself, which has been my focus in the time leading up to recently.
After much thinking, I have come to realised that my insistence on creating perfection may not be in line with the times – with social media seemingly embracing beauty in imperfections – a theory that I am not familiar with. Was born, and grew up, in an era where we were taught to chase perfection: in the things we do, in the things we show. That was mastery.
But in today’s fast-paced society, mindsets have change; it’s about the vibes and the feeling. After a long struggle, I have come to the understanding that techniques and art go hand-in-hand. Techniques are the tools and basics of making a piece of work, without good basics, it would be gibberish. Likewise, Art is what gives purpose to techniques – and a relentless pursuit of it itself would just amount to emptiness – as I have personally experienced. Hence, I’ve come to conclude that it is only by marrying both art and technique that I would be able to make a piece of work… hopefully to call my own.
